Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.🦃
MYTH: COPD is only caused by smoking.
FACT: Smoking is just one of the causes of COPD. COPD can also be genetic, which means that it runs in families. It can also be caused by exposure to chemicals, different types of smoke, and pollution. Some veterans have COPD due to exposures to different chemicals and substances during their tours of duty. Infections in childhood can also cause COPD.
Early diagnosis and treatment can help to stop the disease from getting worse over time and help with your quality of life as you manage COPD. COPD is (currently) incurable, but with the right diagnosis and treatment, there are many things you can do to breathe better, enjoy life, and live for many years.

🌟 A Story of Determination and Triumph: Meet one of our stellar pulmonary rehab graduates, Ms. Kathy Daley! 🎉
When Ms. Kathy joined us, she relied on continuous oxygen. She dreamed of transitioning to a portable concentrator for outings like shopping. But she didn't just meet her goal—she surpassed it! 🙌 Now, she's reduced her oxygen liter flow, come off continuous oxygen, and is thriving beyond expectations.
Her dedication doesn't stop there—Ms. Kathy continues to stay active by exercising three times a week at her local gym, a milestone she once thought impossible. 💪💚
Her story is a testament to what's possible with determination, hard work, and the support of pulmonary rehab. Let's give her a huge round of applause! 👏👏
